Stanton Named to East Valley Partnership Board
Sept. 15, 2003
Phoenix Vice Mayor Greg Stanton has been named to the East Valley Partnership
board of directors. He is the first Phoenix City Council member to be asked
to join the coalition of business and community leaders dedicated to the economic
development and promotion of the region.
"We are quite pleased with Vice Mayor Stanton's election to the EVP Board
of Directors," said Roc Arnett, EVP President and CEO. "Between his tremendous
experience and active representation of the Ahwatukee area, we are confident
he will be a strong addition to an already outstanding board."
"I will continue to work hard to ensure Phoenix maintains a close working
relationship with the East Valley. Our mutual success is dependent upon each
other," Stanton said. Stanton has served on the City Council for more than
three years representing District 6, which includes Ahwatukee Foothills, Arcadia,
Biltmore and north central Phoenix neighborhoods. He chairs the Education,
Culture and Genomics Subcommittee and serves as a member of the City Council
subcommittees overseeing public safety, neighborhood protection and open space
preservation. He co-chairs the Phoenix Dropout Prevention Task Force.
