Council Subcommittees
Councilman Nowakowski serves on four City Council Subcommittees, one of which he chairs:
- Housing and Neighborhoods Subcommittee, chair
This Subcommittee provides policy guidance related to neighborhoods, housing, homeless, and historic preservation with priority on those issues that maximize city dollars in these areas. - Downtown, Aviation and Economy Subcommittee, member
This Subcommittee provides policy guidance on issues related to the development of the city’s downtown core, the city’s support of sports and events related to sports, the continued development of our airports, equal opportunity and diversity, and the city’s support of the ASU, UofA and Phoenix biomedical campuses with priority on those issues that maximize city dollars in these areas. - Public Safety and Veterans Subcommittee, member
This Subcommittee provides policy guidance on police and fire issues including recruiting and technological innovations to maximize the city’s public safety dollars and provide oversight of the city’s court system. Also, the Subcommittee will discuss issues affecting our returning veterans and recognizing the contributions of veterans from past conflicts. - Seniors, Family and Youth Subcommittee, member
This Subcommittee provides policy guidance on issues related to seniors, families and youth, including libraries, education, sister cities, and arts and culture with priority on those issues that maximize city dollars in these areas.
