Phoenix Put Stimulus Dollars to Work
Councilman Nowakowski and other city leaders climbed to the roof of the Washingon Manor senior housing complex, to help start a sealcoating project funded by federal stimulus funds. It's the first Phoenix project to use money through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. The city's housing department will have $4.3 million altogether to spend on a variety of capital projects, creating jobs in the community and improving city facilities.
