SCHEDULED CITY ELECTIONS

When are City elections held?
The regular Phoenix elections for Mayor and City Council are held in September and November (Runoff) of odd-numbered years. The next regular elections are as follows.

• Council Members in Districts 2, 4, 6 and 8 will be elected in 2009.
• The Mayor and Council Members in Districts 1, 3, 5 and 7 will be elected in 2011.

In addition, state law (A.R.S. § 16-204) permits special elections to be held on only four dates each year.

1. The second Tuesday in March
2. The third Tuesday in May
3. The ninth Tuesday before the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November
4. The first Tuesday after the first Monday in November
