Our Mission

To provice comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse, and their families, in a safe, comforting and suppportive environment.

History of the Family Advocacy Center

The City of Phoenix Family Advocacy Center opened its doors in August 1999. As part of the City Manager's Office, the center serves as a central location for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault to receive services.

The center began providing comprehensive services to victims and families through a variety of partnerships. From the beginning, staff worked with victims to help navigate the system, strengthen investigations and enhance the prosecution of perpetrators. Partnerships with community-based organizations provide valuable advocacy services to victims and their families.

Partnerships have expanded to include services such as individual counseling and long-term case management, and various support groups to meet the needs of domestic violence and sexual assault victims.
