DEPUTY CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER - AVIATION

SALARY $77,438 - $121,867 annualized. Appointment can be made above the minimum depending upon qualifications.

EXPERIENCE Requires five years of responsible experience in the Information Technology field, including data center management, telecommunications, business application development, technical services, and strategic planning. Also requires two years of supervisory experience and a Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Airport Management or a related field. The preferred candidate will also have experience establishing a technical support division of a comparable size. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted.

DUTIES Manage the day-to-day activities of the Information Technology Division of the Aviation Department. Coordinate support activities for information technology contracts. Work through team leads to plan, organize and administer all activities of the division in support of the Airport’s 24 Business Applications and Access Control Systems, Telecommunications and Fiber Optic Infrastructures, 750+ desktop workstations, and Airport Data Center. Work is performed with considerable independence and judgment under the direction of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the Aviation Director. The Deputy CIO - Aviation is a member of the Information Technology Department's management team but is assigned to the Aviation Department and will participate on the Aviation Department’s Management Team. The Deputy works closely with the Facilities and Services, Design and Construction Services, Planning and Environmental, Capital Management, Business and Properties, Fiscal, Public Relations, and Operations Divisions of the Aviation Department.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has a worldwide reputation for excellence, serving more than 42 million passengers, partnering with over 500 tenants, and negotiating and managing over $500 million-dollars in revenue agreements. The successful candidate will supervise 54 professional level and field technicians; closely coordinate work activities with the Information Technology Department; prepare reports and deliver presentations to the Advisory Board and City Council; research and apply best industry practices; manage a $45 million-dollar Capital Improvement Program budget and a $19 million-dollar operating budget; plan service delivery, and assess present complex technical issues and decisions. Currently, there are two vacancies in the Information Technology Department supporting Enterprise Infrastructure Services and Aviation. The Enterprise Infrastructure Services position is responsible for implementing and maintaining all aspects of the enterprise infrastructure including telecommunications, structured cabling, data networking, server hardware and operating systems, data center operations, access management, and service delivery management. The Aviation position is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Information Technology Division of the Aviation Department. ALSO REQUIRED Prior to hire, all positions in the Aviation Department require individuals to pass a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) background check and acquire security credentials.

RESIDENCE Maricopa County residency is required within 24 months after the date of hire and must be maintained.
