Currently, there are more than two million residents living in the Valley of the Sun, and just over 1.2 million of them live in Phoenix. The ability to secure any one of these assignments is attainable by any Phoenix police officer with a desire to take on new challenges and who has completed 3 to 4 years of service as a patrol officer.
