Join Councilman Michael Nowakowski on Sunday, Feb. 12, at the annual Willo Historic District Home Tour and the 60th anniversary celebration of Laveen Pit BBQ.
The Willo Home Tour will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12. One of Phoenix’s oldest historic districts, Willo is located between Thomas and McDowell roads, First and Seventh avenues. This neighborhood features homes dating back to the 1920s in a variety of styles, including bungalow, Tudor and Spanish. Trolly cars will delivery attendees to each area of the neighborhood. A street fair will feature handcrafted products, jewelry, antiques, local artwork and a variety of snacks. Tickets are $18 the day of the tour. For more information, visit willotour.com.
Celebrate 60 years of Laveen Pit BBQ from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 8225 S. 59th Ave. Enjoy entertainment for the entire family, deep pit barbecued beef and pork on a bun, delicious BBQ sauce, beans, slaw, beverages and cookies. Plus, arts and crafts, an antique tractor and classic car exhibit, children’s rides and a used book sale. Adult ticket donation - $9; children’s ticket donation - $6.
