Residents are invited to join Councilman Tom Simplot and neighbors for a community spring cleaning activity as they spruce up an alley near 35th Avenue and McDowell Road. Volunteers will gather and begin to work at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, March 27, at the Bret Tarver Learning Center, 1516 N. 35th Ave.
This community service project is one of a number of events around the city to commemorate the Cesar Chavez Day of Service. "These events honor the legacy of Cesar Chavez who championed community service," said Simplot. "Working together as a community and helping one another is the only way to see our way through these difficult economic times."
