Residents are invited to join Vice Mayor Michael Nowakowski and neighborhood volunteers for a community service project from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 27. The clean-up and graffiti removal will be in the Garcia West neighborhood from 27th to 35th avenues and Buckeye to Durango roads.

Volunteers will paint a senior citizen’s home and remove debris and overgrown vegetation from the property. Volunteers also will clean-up a large vacant lot and paint over graffiti. Participating organizations include AARP, Americorp, ASU, city of Phoenix and the Arizona Cactus Pine Council Girl Scouts.
