The Executive Committee of the Regional Wireless Cooperative (RWC) announced recently that a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the RWC by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).  The certificate will be presented during the RWC board of director’s meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 24, at City Council Chambers, 200 W. Jefferson St.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

The RWC is a state-of-the-art, 700/800 MHz radio system that was established through a partnership of 18 cities and other government agencies to provide region-wide, seamless and effective radio communications for public safety first responders across the Phoenix metro region.

The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 7,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, and Washington, D.C.
