Councilman Daniel Valenzuela invites residents to join him for a neighborhood cleanup event at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at Washington Park, 6655 N. 23rd Ave.  The cleanup will take place from 19th Avenue to Interstate 17, Bethany Home Road to Glendale Avenue.

“I campaigned on a platform that included neighborhood revitalization and events like this are part of keeping those promises,” said Councilman Valenzuela, chairman of the Neighborhoods, Planning and Development, Housing and Homeless Subcommittee. “No one person can do it alone.  It takes partnering with businesses, city staff, volunteers and neighborhoods to make change happen.”

Councilman Valenzuela is partnering with Kohl’s Department Store, the Washington Park Neighborhood Association, the City Manager’s Office, the Neighborhood Services Department and the Parks and Recreation Department. The group will focus on cleaning up Washington Park and removing graffiti from the surrounding area.

For more information about the neighborhood cleanup event, contact Lisa Huggins-Hubbard at 602-348-0228.

Residents are encouraged to visit and subscribe to the Councilman’s neighborhood newsletter to stay informed of upcoming events and important city issues.
