Residents are invited to join Councilman Bill Gates for his Coffee Chat event at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, May 24, at the Vista Senior Living Center, 350 E. Eva St., in Sunnyslope.  Councilman Gates will be joined by Arizona Corporation Commissioner Bob Stump and Acting Public Works Director John Trujillo.  Trujillo will discuss the city’s upcoming change to same day collection of trash and recycling.

The Arizona Corporation Commission was established by the Arizona Constitution and consists of five elected commissioners. Their duties include the regulation of public utilities, facilitating the incorporation of businesses and enforcing pipeline and railroad safety standards.
