Free Yoga/Concert Series this Summer at Civic Space Park

Parks Mission Graphic for WebCivic Space Park in downtown Phoenix will be hosting a unique yoga and concert series each Thursday evening this summer. The Civic Space Yoga and Concert Series will take place every Thursday night from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in June, July, and August at the park, located at 424 N. Central Ave (between 1st and Central avenues, just north of Van Buren Street/Central Station).

The evenings will begin at 6:30 p.m. with free yoga classes for all ages; guests should bring their own mats. Visitors also can bring their own blankets or chairs to enjoy the live concerts from 7:30 to 9 p.m.  The first Civic Space Concert Series event of the summer will be on June 7. Leon J JukeJoint is set to perform a Delta Blues Review to kick of the summer series.

Performing artists for the month of June include:

  • June 14: Walt Richardson- Godfather of Roots, Reggae in Arizona
  • June 21: Alice Tatum- Jazz and Pop
  • June 28: Rhythm Edition- R&B, Top 40      

Fair Trade Café will be serving smoothies, food, beer, and wine. Other partners for the event include LJ Morton Music and yoga instruction provided by Madison Improvement, Urban Yoga, and Erin McDonnell.

To encourage walking and use of mass transit Civic Space Park does not have parking spaces. Those planning to attend are encouraged to use the Light Rail or bus system. Immediate access to Light Rail and bus transit stations are located near the park. Specific information on free park and ride locations and bus stops can be accessed online at valleymetro.org.
