Deadlines Approaching for Candidates Seeking Phoenix Council District 3 Seat

Candidates interested in being appointed to the vacant City Council District 3 interim seat must submit a resume and cover letter by 5 p.m. Thursday, June 25 to the City Clerk Department, 200 W. Washington St., 15th floor. 

Individuals must live in District 3 and be a registered a voter to be eligible for the seat.  The seat became vacant on June 17 when Councilwoman Maria Baier resigned to become the Arizona Land Commissioner.

Also, candidates who plan to run in an upcoming Special Election to fill the remainder of the District 3 term must complete and submit a candidate application to the City Clerk Department by 5 p.m. Saturday, June 27.

City Clerk will have its offices open on the first floor of Phoenix City Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 27.

The Phoenix City Council is expected to appoint an interim council member at its scheduled June 30 Policy Meeting at the City Council Chambers, 200 W. Jefferson St.
