Launch of City’s First Solar-Cooled Light Rail Station - Be the First to See it in Action!

WHAT: NRG Thermal, a wholly owned subsidiary of NRGEnergy, designed and constructed an environmentally-friendly system that uses solar power and its downtown district cooling system (cooling 34 major buildings in downtown, including Chase Field and CityScape) to provide free, on-demand cooling to the seating areas of the popular 3rd St./Washington METRO light rail station.  NRGcompleted this project in record time to help keep fans cool during the Major League Baseball All-Star festivites.
