The city of Phoenix Information Technology Services Department (ITS) has launched a new security awareness website at phoenix.gov/infosec to help educate the public about the importance of information security and how to safeguard confidential data.
The new site, created and administered by the ITS Information Security and Privacy Office (ISPO), includes information for everyone on how to protect their family, computers, identity, and privacy, as well as special information for businesses. The site also contains numerous resources, educational videos and articles.
“In today’s computerized world, it is more important than ever for people to protect themselves, their families, and their businesses from emerging cyber threats,” said Councilman Michael Nowakowski, chairman of the City Council Public Safety, Veterans, Transparency and Ethics Subcommittee. “We are proud to provide this new website as a public safety resource for our residents.”
The ISPO provides strategic oversight, direction, and coordination for city of Phoenix information security and privacy programs based on internationally recognized information security governance best practices.
The ISPO welcomes public feedback on the website as well as suggestions for new topics. For more information or to provide feedback on the new website, e-mail ISPO@phoenix.gov.
