Councilwoman Thelda Williams invites fourth and fifth grade students in Phoenix to participate in the city’s Animal Cruelty Task Force poster contest. Prizes include: $100 for first place; $50 for second place; and other prizes for honorable mentions.
“I always say we can learn a lot from our young people,” said Councilwoman Williams. “The goal of this contest is to come up with creative ideas to educate the public about preventing and reporting animal abuse. I look forward to what our students create.”
The contest is open to forth and fifth graders who attend schools located in the city of Phoenix. Theme: Prevent and report animal abuse and neglect. Deadline for entry is Halloween Day, Oct. 31 at 5 p.m. Posters may not be larger than 11 x 17 inches in size and must be in printed form. Please include student’s name, grade and contact information with each entry. Deliver or mail to: Phoenix City Hall, Attention Councilwoman Williams, 200 W. Washington St., 11th Floor, Phoenix, AZ 85003.
Winning posters may be used in the Animal Cruelty Task Force’s education campaign, including billboards and public service announcements.
