Museum staff is holding a free informational breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 2 for potential volunteers. The only requirements are an interest in Native American history and working in a world-class museum and archaeological site.
Volunteers can contribute through a number of positions: docent (tour guide), gift shop attendant, Collections, Library or Exhibits Aid, and more. Those interested in becoming a volunteer can join a docent training course that begins at 9 a.m. on Oct. 4. This session is the first training course needed before advancing on to specific areas such as tour guide, education, and collections. The session provides an introduction to the Hohokam people, archaeology, and cultural interpretation.
