Mayor Greg Stanton and his wife, Nicole, will be hosting “Storytime with the Stantons” 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at Agave Library located at 23550 N. 36th Ave. The Stantons and library staff will be sharing books, finger plays, songs, flannel board stories and more with children 24 to 36 months accompanied by a caregiver.
“Nicole and I are looking forward to spending this time with the toddlers,” explained Mayor Stanton. “We know how important it is for parents and caregivers to support the skills that will help their children learn to read. Programs like these are fun, but also provide valuable information on how to engage very young children and it’s critical to start early.”
"Storytime with the Stantons" is scheduled for additional library locations in January, February and March 2013.
