Moonlight Movies in the Park

October 5, 2010

Councilman Tom Simplot will host a Moonlight Movie in the Park at sundown on Saturday, Oct. 16 in the Steele Indian School Park Amphitheater, Third Street and Indian School Road.

The all-time classic, “The Wizard of Oz,” will be the featured presentation. Come dressed as your favorite Oz character as we join Dorothy and her dog Toto on their journey back home. Be sure to watch out for flying monkeys along the way!

This free event is sponsored in partnership with Cox Communications, KBAQ 89.5 FM Radio and the Arizona Opera. An artist from the Arizona Opera will perform the timeless classic, “Over the Rainbow” prior to the film, and audience members will have a chance to win tickets to their season opening show, “The Pirates of Penzance.”

Moonlight Movies are a family friendly way to spend an evening or a great date night activity. Bring your friends, neighbors, blankets, chairs, snacks and enjoy!
