Nominations Sought for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Awards Event

MLK BreakfastThe Phoenix Human Relations Commission, in collaboration with the city of Phoenix Equal Opportunity Department, is seeking human rights awards nominations for people, including youth, who have made an impact on the quality of life of Phoenix residents and contributed significantly to creating a compassionate and socially just community.

The Calvin C. Goode Lifetime Achievement and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Living the Dream awards will be presented at the January 2013 annual Arizona Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration event.

The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual who has made Phoenix a better place to live by promoting social and economic justice and civil rights.  Candidates for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Living the Dream Award must embody the ideas of Dr. King through their personal commitment to human relations and social justice.
