The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department, Councilman Daniel Valenzuela and area residents will celebrate the grand opening of Dust Devil Park, 107th Avenue and Camelback Road, at a celebration event Nov. 3 at 10 a.m.
The 15-acre park boasts a skate park, a splash pad, a lighted basketball court, walking/exercise paths, a playground with separate play areas for younger and older kids, open grass areas, a restroom, security lighting, more than 300 trees and solar paneled picnic ramadas. Electricity generated by the solar panels help to offset the park’s electricity costs.
Park construction cost $5 million and was funded with proceeds from the Parks and Preserve Initiative.
