Sister Cities International Competition for Artists with Disabilities Awards

Seventy-one art entries have been received for the seventh annual Phoenix Sister Cities International Competition for Artists with Disabilities. The art will be displayed at an exhibition from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at The Warehouse 1005 Studio and Gallery, 1005 N. First St.  The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Artists with a disability, 19 years of age or over and residing in Arizona or one of Phoenix’s  nine sister cities were eligible to participate in the contest.  Forty-five pieces of art were received from two of Phoenix’s sister cities,” 11 from Hermosillo, Mexico; and 34 from Chengdu, China.  The 26 other pieces of art were received from organizations and individuals in the Phoenix metropolitan area.  

Fifty-two of the art entries are competing for cash awards of  $500, $300 and $150 for first, second and third places.  These pieces of art will be available for sale on a first-come, first-served basis.
