City of Phoenix Sets Up Voter Hotline for Nov. 3. Election Day
The city of Phoenix will operate a voter information telephone line on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. to assist voters with information about the city election or polling place locations. The number is 602-261-8683 or TTY/602-534-2737.
Voters in Council Districts 3 and 6 will elect City Council members.
The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, which is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
There are several ways for voters to determine their polling place. The polling place name and address are identified on the back cover of the Sample Ballot Pamphlet that was mailed in September to all residences in Districts 3 and 6 where there is a registered voter. A polling place locator application is available at phoenix.gov, which allows voters to enter their residence address to obtain the name and address of the voter’s polling place and a map showing the location. Voters also can call the City Clerk Department election information line at 602-261-VOTE (8683). Hearing-impaired voters should call the Teletypewriter (TTY) number at 602-534-2737.
Every voter is required to show proof of identity at the polling place to receive a ballot. Specific forms of photo or non-photo identification with the voter’s name and address are required. A list of the acceptable forms of identification appears in the Sample Ballot Pamphlet and also is available at phoenix.gov.
Voters who do not present acceptable identification may vote a provisional ballot at the polls, but may be required to present acceptable identification to an election official by 5 p.m. on the Friday after the election.
Voters who received an early ballot by mail, but have not yet voted and returned the ballot, can still vote the ballot they received in the mail. Voters must place the voted ballot in the signed affidavit envelope. The envelope can then be dropped off at any polling place in the city or at City Hall, 200 W. Washington St. The voters also may vote at the polls on Election Day, but will be required to cast a provisional ballot.
For more information about the election, visit phoenix.gov or call the City Clerk Department at 602-261-VOTE (8683) or TTY/602-534-2737.
