A series of free College Depot seminars is being offered for students and parents seeking assistance with planning for college. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about the college planning process, from admissions to financial aid and career exploration. The workshops will be held at Burton Barr Central Library, 1221 N. Central Ave., second floor.

4:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Explore Phoenix College
Diana Martinez, student services specialist, Phoenix College, will provide general information about admissions, the registration process, tuition, financial aid, and programs and services available at Phoenix College.
- Sunday, Nov. 15
2 - 3 p.m.
College 101
Silvia Valadez, College Depot advisor, will provide information to help students make a smooth transition to college. Attendees will learn about mapping their future, preparing, applying and paying for college.

5 - 6 p.m.
Phoenix College ACE and Junior ACE Programs
Achieving a College Education Program (ACE) is a nationally recognized program that targets students who may not consider attending college and obtaining a bachelors degree. Rody Randon, representative of Early Academic Outreach, Phoenix College, will provide information about becoming an ACE student and making a smooth transition from high school to a community college, and transfer to a university. Junior ACE is also offered to 7-10th grade students.

Writing a Winning Scholarship Essay
Nicole Porter M.Ed, admissions manager, Grand Canyon University, will provide information about what a scholarship essay should look like. She will share tips, answer questions and show examples of winning essays.

3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
University of Arizona Admissions
Courtney Joseph, admissions counselor, University of Arizona Phoenix Office of Admissions, will present an overview of the university. She will discuss the admissions process, general information and students’ lives in Tucson.

5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
National Service as a Way to Pay for College
Elisha M. Ferraro, community programs manager, HandsOn Great Phoenix, will discuss different ways students can participate in national service, applying their talents and expertise to the common good. She also will talk about becoming a volunteer as a way to pay for college.
