Asurion, a global leader in providing consumer technology protection services for mobile phones and other electronics, today held a grand opening and ribbon cutting of the new 64,000-square-foot Phoenix technical support center.

“Asurion is proud to call Phoenix, Arizona home to our newest Premier Support Solutions center,” said Sue Nokes, senior vice president Customer Solutions, Asurion.  “We have found tremendous talent in Phoenix. Since opening our doors at the end of September, we have trained and graduated our first class of support technicians. We are grateful for the warm welcome we’ve received from the Phoenix community, local businesses and government officials and look forward to a long, healthy partnership ahead.”

The Arizona Commerce Authority, Greater Phoenix Economic Council and Phoenix’s Community and Economic Development Department partnered to identify optimum real estate options.

“Working together as regional partners to attract great jobs is an effective way to invite business opportunities and industry leaders like Asurion,” said Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton.  “Phoenix worked to meet plan review and permitting deadlines, and connected local talent to Asurion by leveraging high-value employment networks, helping the company save time and money.”

In August, Asurion held a hiring event to fill more than 500 positions including operations managers, supervisors, training managers, training specialists, subject matter experts, technicians and human resource personnel.

“Today is another great day for job creation in Arizona, and we are thrilled to celebrate this grand opening with Asurion,” said Arizona Commerce Authority President and CEO Sandra Watson. “Asurion’s capital investment and expansion in Phoenix will create hundreds of high-wage professional services jobs for Arizonans and strengthen our state’s economy.”

"Asurion is a welcome addition to the innovative and high-tech culture emanating throughout the city of Phoenix and the region, where they will find a top-notch talent pool and too many amenities to count,” said Barry Broome, president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. “I look forward to working with them and hearing more about their successes in our market.”
