Councilman Claude Mattox Raises Money for Charities

Nov. 8, 2010

Councilman Claude Mattox and his wife Sherri Fagan recently hosted the Sixth Annual Margarita Night Charity Fundraiser.

With this year’s contributions, the goal is to raise $200,000 in total donations since the Margarita Bash charity events began. This year’s proceeds will support Phoenix Children’s Hospital Water Safety Programs, United Phoenix Fire Fighters Charities and the Maryvale Revitalization Corporation.

“This is our favorite charity event that we host to help deserving organizations that have an impact in the community we serve. Plus I get to play music with my band for a fabulous cause. It’s a great way to spend a beautiful Saturday night in Phoenix,” said Councilman Mattox.

The event featured music by Mattox’s band, the Screamin’ Javelinas, and local recording artist, Roger Clyne of Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers. Silent and live auctions helped raise the charitable contributions. Auctioned items included signed guitars by Toby Kieth, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash, and Brooks and Dunn; golf excursions; a Triumph motorcycle; and a painting by artist J. L. Covarrubias.
