"Today's council vote confirms that we as a city are committed to doing what is right for those who served our country. I am proud of how our community - passionate volunteers, non-profit organizations and the city - has united to become the first in the nation to finally end chronic homelessness among our veterans,” said Councilman Daniel T. Valenzuela, chairman of the City Council Neighborhoods, Housing and Development Subcommittee. “The measure approved today will ensure every chronically homeless veteran in Phoenix is in bridge housing by the holidays. God bless those who risked their lives for the freedoms we all enjoy. May they rest easy at the end of a day knowing they have a safe, warm place to call home."
