Phoenix City Councilman Daniel T. Valenzuela joins political leaders from the western United States on an educational visit to Israel, beginning Nov. 25 through Dec. 1.

Councilman Valenzuela is available for interviews before, during and after the Israel visit, and will provide Twitter updates @Daniel4Phoenix.

“I am honored to join an impressive list of U.S. political leaders on this journey during this especially sensitive time in the region,” said Councilman Valenzuela. “I believe this will be a valuable and safe experience in spite of the current Gaza conflict.  I look forward to learning first-hand of the importance of the U.S.-Israeli alliance.”

The official visit is sponsored by the American Israel Education Foundation, the charitable organization affiliated with the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee.

The focus of the visit is to offer first-hand experiences to U.S. political leaders about the importance of the U.S.-Israeli relationship.  The itinerary includes seminars and meetings with international journalists, policy makers and business leaders in the region.  The 21-member delegation includes elected officials from California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah, among others.
