Councilman Johnson encourages residents to join him at a free car seat check-up event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 17, at the American Legion Post 65, 1624 E. Broadway Road.
Nationally Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians from the Phoenix Fire Department and Maricopa County Safe Kids will ensure that car seats are properly installed and to educate families on car seat safety. Attendees are asked to bring their child to the event to properly install the car seat. In addition, a limited quantity of replacement car seats will be available for distribution. The event is hosted by Phoenix Fire and the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.
“Using a car seat that is not properly installed can put your child at risk,” said Councilman Johnson. “It’s important to buckle up correctly, so don’t miss out on this free opportunity to have your car seat installed by the experts.”
