Want to Feel Appreciated? Visit PHX Sky Harbor Airport Oct. 7
Phoenix, AZ – Those visiting Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport October 7 will be treated to free candy, newspapers, coffee samples and more as the Airport celebrates Customer Appreciation Day. Sky Harbor prides itself on being America’s Friendliest Airport® and has chosen this date during national Customer Service Week to say “thank you” to those traveling through the Phoenix Airport.
Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon will be in Terminal 4, level 3 from 9 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. personally thanking customers for flying PHX. “Sky Harbor serves more than 100,000 passengers a day,” said Mayor Gordon. “We want every one of them to know how much we appreciate their business.”
Employees and Navigator volunteers will hand out “THX from PHX” stickers. Some Airport stores plan to give away free Arizona Republic newspapers while others will hand out candy, snacks and even post cards. Many of Sky Harbor’s restaurants will offer food specials and discounts. Starbucks will provide beverage and pastry samples and taste tests of its new instant coffee, VIA. Even Travel Ex currency exchange is joining the fun, waiving fees on all currency transactions October 7.
Sky Harbor’s mascot, Amelia the Airplane will be out in the terminals greeting travelers and without a doubt, posing for photos. And visitors who really want a photo opportunity won’t want to miss the performing chicken being brought in by Fresh Gourmet to Go in the Rental Car Center. This is the first Customer Appreciation day for Sky Harbor but certainly not the last. “Our goal is to make this an annual event” said Phoenix Aviation Director, Danny Murphy. Sky Harbor customers are encouraged to report good customer service or “random acts of friendly” by e-mailing skyharbor@phoenix.gov.
