New Aviation Advisory Board Chair Named

The city of Phoenix Aviation Department is pleased to announce the appointment of Patty Johnson as the new Chair of the Phoenix Aviation Advisory Board.

The Board is made up of nine volunteer members appointed by the Mayor and City Council to a four year term. The volunteers meet monthly, on the third Thursday of the month, to review airport policies and make recommendations to the City Council on major airport projects, contracts and business ventures.

“We are so fortunate to have such highly capable and talented people willing to give their time and energy to this important effort,” said Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon.

Patty Johnson owns Connections Marketing & Communications. She is a board member of Homeward Bound, is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Legal Marketing Association. She also recently served for two years as a member of the city of Phoenix Planning and Zoning Commission on the Downtown Design Standards Sub-Committee. She has been an Aviation Board member since 2006. 

Andrew Cohn of Levine Investments was elected as Vice Chair.

Danny Murphy, the city of Phoenix Aviation Director, said, “Ms. Johnson has been a very active and engaged member of the Board since she was appointed in 2006, giving many hours of her personal time to committee meetings and Board related activities. We are so pleased that she has accepted this appointment.”
