Councilman Simplot Appointed to Valle Del Sol Board

District 4 Councilman Tom Simplot was recently appointed to the board of directors of Valle del Sol, Inc. One of the area's oldest community-based nonprofit organizations for the Hispanic community, Valle del Sol has worked since 1970 to provide counseling, case management, adult education, advocacy, leadership development and other services to Valley Latinos.

"Councilman Simplot brings a wealth of experience and an energetic work ethic to our nonprofit organization," said Luz Sarmina-Gutierrez, president and CEO of Valle del Sol. "We work with the city of Phoenix on many projects, so it's very exciting to have Councilman Simplot as a member of our board, to solidify that partnership."

Simplot said that as a leading organization in the Latino community, Valle del Sol offers needed social services to residents of District 4 and the broader Valley population. "I am proud of all Valle del Sol does for the Valley's Hispanic community," said Simplot. "Their efforts are essential to the continued social, civic and economic equality of Valley Latinos. I am honored to help them with their work."
