Moonlight Movies Concludes with “The Sandlot”
The Moonlight Movies 2005 series hosted by Councilman Tom Simplot concludes this weekend with the baseball film “The Sandlot.” The movie will screen at sunset (around 8 p.m.) on Saturday, July 23 in the Steele Indian School Park amphitheater. The park is at Third Street and Indian School Road. The Moonlight Movies are free, outdoor films.
“‘The Sandlot’ is the perfect summer film for families,” said Simplot. “It’s all about making friends and having summer adventures.”
The PG-rated movie follows the misadventures of Scotty Smalls as he tries to learn the game of baseball and develop friendships with the neighborhood kids. Smalls is tested when, during a game, he loses his father’s Babe Ruth autographed baseball to a reclusive old man and his junkyard dog. Through many zany schemes, the boys find success, fun and friendship.
