Councilman Mattox to Perform at Fourth Annual Phoenix Sister Cities WorldFEST
Join Councilman Claude Mattox and his rock band, the Screamin’ Javelinas, as they take the stage during the 2009 WorldFEST WineDOWN from 5:20 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at Margaret T. Hance Park, 1134 N. Central Ave.
The WorldFEST WineDOWN is part of Friday night’s BeerFEST, featuring live entertainment and a wide selection of international beers. Friday marks the beginning of a three-day celebration sponsored by Phoenix Sister Cities, highlighting different cultures around the globe and the city’s international partnerships.
“WorldFEST is a great event for residents of all ages,” Mattox said. “Without a doubt, Phoenix residents should come out and enjoy the weekend’s festivities. My band and I will see you there.”
WorldFEST takes place from Feb. 27 to March 1. Enjoy international cuisine at the WorldLUNCH from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, and return from 5 to 10 p.m. for the WineDOWN. WorldFEST continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 8 p.m. General admission is free. Tickets may be purchased for food, beverages and special events.
