Councilman DiCiccio Appointed to Municipal Tax Code Commission

Councilman Sal DiCiccio has been appointed as the city of Phoenix representative to the Municipal Tax Code Commission of Arizona.

DiCiccio was appointed by Senate President Bob Burns to fill the city of Phoenix vacancy left by former District 6 councilmember, Greg Stanton.

“Sal DiCiccio has been actively involved in the community for many years. His previous experience as a Phoenix city councilman and as a business owner will be an asset to this commission,” said Bob Burns, senate president.

The Municipal Tax Code Commission consists of a Department of Revenue representative and nine elected officials from Arizona cities and towns with a model city tax code. Five members are appointed by the Governor, two by the President of the Senate and two by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, to serve a three-year term.

The commission’s exclusive responsibility is to comment on language presented by any governing entity or taxpayer for the purpose of supporting, modifying or exempting taxable commodities under the model city tax code.
