Christopher Wilson has been sentenced
The following is from the office of Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas.
County Attorney Andrew Thomas announced today that Christopher Wilson has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for his role in the 2005 shooting death of Phoenix Police Officer David Uribe.
On May 10, 2005 Officer Uribe pulled over a car near 35th Avenue and Cactus. Wilson was behind the wheel. A passenger, Donald Delahanty, shot and killed the officer.
The suspects were arrested two days later. In February 2006, Wilson pleaded guilty to Second Degree Murder and agreed to testify against Delahanty. Wilson was sentenced on August 18 to 11 years in prison. Veteran Deputy County Attorney Vince Imbordino prosecuted the case.
In May 2009 Delahanty was convicted of First Degree Murder and later sentenced to death.
Thomas stated, "For more than four years our prosecutors have been working with Phoenix Police to bring those responsible for Officer Uribe's death to justice. These two sentences reflect that effort."
