Suspects arrested in two-year old case

On October 20, 2007, three men planned to commit a robbery/kidnapping with the intention of holding a victim ransom for a large amount of money. Arthur Sosa, 31, Romeo Martinez-Garcia, 34, and Alfredo Simental, 23, went to 4217 E. Desert Forest Trail to carry out their plan. During the course of the event, Tabakee Limtom, 29, who was not the original intended kidnapping victim, was shot and killed while trying to escape from the house. The suspects fled in a vehicle which was recovered on October 24th 2007. Shortly after this incident, suspect Alfredo Simental, was killed. Simental’s homicide is currently under investigation by MCSO as his homicide occurred in their jurisdiction.

Alfredo Simental’s involvement in the murder of Limtom became known in December of 2007. With the help of forensic evidence and additional information obtained by investigators, the investigation progressed and on October 12, 2009, Arthur Sosa was interviewed about the robbery/kidnapping of Limtom. Romeo Martinez-Garcia was subsequently also identified as a suspect and on October 14, 2009, Garcia was located and questioned. Based upon a combination of information, forensic evidence and interviews, Arthur Sosa and Romeo Martinez-Garcia were arrested and booked for Felony Murder, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Burglary and Kidnapping.
