For parents, late spring is crunch time to find ways to keep kids active, engaged and safe through the summer break. The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department is giving parents a big helping hand with its summer schedule of classes, programs and full-day recreation classes, now viewable online at phoenix.gov/parks. In addition to viewing the summer program schedule, parents also can sign up for regular e-mail alerts. When registration opens later this month, participants also can sign up for programs online with a major credit card from any internet connected computer.
Parents can choose from among dozens of community center-based general interest classes from dance, to music to visual arts or enroll their children in our full-day supervised Phoenix Afterschool Center (PAC) program at sites throughout the city. Parents also can get their children vital swimming instruction at one of 29 city pools.
All summer session program schedules and descriptions are now viewable online. Registration for Phoenix Afterschool Center recreation programs begins April 19, community center general-interest class registration begins April 26 and swim class registration begins May 3. All registration periods begin at 10:30 a.m. Programs schedules and registration are in the Classes and Programs link on the department homepage at phoenix.gov/parks.
