Community and Recreation Centers

The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department's community and recreation centers offer a variety of programs and activities for all ages.

Community centers also have rooms available to rent for meetings and parties; call individual facilities for room rental information. Click on a letter below to access our alphabetized list of centers.

(Please note that the following community centers will be closed on Saturday, July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday: Beuf, Deer Valley, Desert West, Devonshire Senior Center, Longview, Maryvale, Mountain View, Paradise Valley, Pecos, South Mountain, Sunnyslope, and Washington. All centers are closed Friday, July 3)

Ping pong table, bumper pool table, air hockey, shuffle board, Computer games (Playstation 1 and 2, X-Box) and various games. The adjoining Kid Street Park has basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, and other amenities.

Recreation/Teen Center that primarily focuses on youth and teen activities as well as community special events.  Barrios Unidos offers a variety of youth sports and houses a drop in game room, lit tennis courts, basketball courts and softball fields.

Maryvale Community Center

This 27,000-square foot center features an indoor gymnasium with an elevated walking track above the gym floor. This elevated area also features an exercise area and a dance/aerobics room. The lower level of the facility includes a senior lounge area, a multi-purpose room with a warming kitchen and large sliding glass door that opens onto a patio area, an arts and crafts room vented for a kiln, a large teen room and a dance room with built-in ballet bars and a wooden floor.

This multigenerational facility offers a wide variety of programs and classes in recreation, health and fitness, sports, arts, and culture, computer technology, after-school activities and more. It also houses a police sub-station and holding facility as well as Citizen Service Center.
