GREENING LOWER GRAND AVENUE
The city of Phoenix, Grand Avenue Merchant Association (GAMA) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency held a series of public meetings to gather feedback on a revitalization concept for Lower Grand Avenue. The meetings were held on Feb 28, 29 and March 1.
A final report that summarizes the information gathered during the community design workshop has been completed. The report provides short, mid and long term strategies for the redevelopment of Lower Grand Avenue into a vibrant corridor.
• Report: Greening Lower Grand Avenue
Lower Grand Avenue encompasses an area from the Interstate 10 overpass to Van Buren Street and Seventh Avenue. The project will explored possibilities for a redeveloped Grand Avenue streetscape that included making it more pedestrian and bicycle friendly, incorporating sustainable elements while maintaining the neighborhoods unique character.
The project is made possible by a grant from U.S. EPA's Greening & America's Capitals, a project of the Partnership for Sustainable Communities, which is designed to build civic pride and a greener future.
