Margaret T. Hance Park Re-Master Plan
Location: 67 West Culver St.

The original plan developed almost 20 years ago. Built on a "deck" on top of the I-10 tunnel, the park originally was named Deck Park until renamed for former Phoenix Mayor Margaret T. Hance, who served from 1976 to 1984. The entire park is 32.5 acres, including the Japanese Friendship Garden, Burton Barr Library, Phoenix Arts Buildings, and Irish Cultural Center. This central ctiy park area offers a grassy area (14.37 acres of turf) for picnics, a playground area, rest-rooms, sand volleyball and is frequently used for a variety of activities and events such as the Martin Luther King Festival and Octoberfest.
