There are miles of trails for hiking, climbing, horseback riding, and mountain biking. Reservable ramadas are a great place for gatherings. The main ranger station was constructed with native stone in the early 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Gated areas open from 5 a.m. – 7 p.m. (trails remain open until 11 p.m.)

Improvement Projects currently under way:
Many of the restrooms at South Mountain Park and Preserve are closed. Responding to public requests, the Parks Department will be repairing the restroom buildings, replacing roof and old fixtures.
