Downtown Code, Chapter 12 Zoning Ordinance
Downtown Code Improvements
On February 8, 2012, the Planning Commission unanimously approved initiating a text amendment to the Downtown Code, which has been in place since April 2010. Several projects that have come through the development review process subject to the Downtown Code have highlighted areas of the Code needing adjustments.
The goal of the text amendment is to eliminate conflicts in the language of the Code, clarify terminology, provide options, give clear and consistent direction, and reinstate previous entitlements. These improvements should streamline the plan review and permit process while ensuring quality development in downtown.
