Historic Registers
Eligible properties in Phoenix may be listed on two different historic registers - the Phoenix Historic Property Register and the National Register of Historic Places. Although the process for listing properties differs for each register, the eligibility criteria (PDF) are the same.

In Phoenix, properties listed on the Phoenix Historic Property Register receive Historic Preservation (HP) or Historic Preservation-Landmark (HP-L) overlay zoning from the Phoenix City Council. Properties listed on the Phoenix Historic Property Register are subject to historic design review and may be eligible for historic preservation incentives.
