CIVIL SERVICE BOARD
Description:
The Board hears appeals of disciplinary demotions, discharges, and suspensions of employees. The Board may delegate to Hearing Officers the authority to conduct hearings. The decisions of the Board shall be final and binding. The Board also hears appeals from classified employees of interpretations of the Personnel Rules, and proposes Personnel Rules and amendments thereto.

Meeting Frequency:
Once per month on the second Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the Personnel Building Conference Room 100. Hearings are scheduled as needed.
Board Composition:
This Board shall consist of five members who are residents and electors appointed by the City Council. No more than three members shall be adherents of the same political party and no member shall hold any other salaried public office. Vacancies shall be filled by the Mayor for the unexpired term subject to the approval of the Council. Three members shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business.
