Detective Ken Stefanisin serves both his community and his country as a Phoenix Police officer and as a soldier deployed in Saudia Arabia. Word was received this past week that he has been promoted to Captain in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Phoenix Police Homeland Defense Bureau Sergeant Patrick Kotecki, Stefanisin’s supervisor on the department hold’s him in high regard stating, “Captain Stefanisin has always been a consummate professional on our department as I know he is when deployed for his military service.”
Notifying the department about Stefanisin’s promotion to Captain, Colonel Jeffrey Haberman had this to say in a message to the men and women of the Phoenix Police Department:
“It is my honor to inform you that Detective Ken Stefanisin has been promoted to the rank of Captain in the United States Coast Guard effective 01 July 2013, while on assignment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” adding, “Captain Stefanisin is an integral part of the U.S. security assistance program focused on the development of a Saudi Arabian Maritime Infrastructure Protection Force designed to protect the Kingdom’s and the world’s most critical infrastructure. His police and Coast Guard background are key to the successful development and operations of this organization.”
