The facts on the status of hiring in the Phoenix Police Department

"The Phoenix Police Department is NOW HIRING once again! We are currently processing applicants and filling vacancies for academy classes that are starting each month. We do not have a correlating academy class with testing dates, we simply process applicants and put them in the next available academy class upon successful completion of the hiring process. Click on Police Officer on the right side bar, then scroll down to Details on Hiring and click on Application/Testing Dates for complete information."

THE CITY OF PHOENIX IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.

THE PHOENIX POLICE DEPARTMENT DOES NOT HIRE PERSONS BASED ON ETHNICITY OR GENDER.

The Phoenix Police Department is looking for individuals to fill numerous vacancies. Positions are available at all levels of employment, with great benefits and pay.

Communications Operator

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to receive, evaluate, and process all 9-1-1 calls for police, fire, and medical assistance; or, to operate base radio equipment to dispatch police units on police related incidents.
