Safely dispose of unwanted meds November 7, 2009

Empty medicine bottle on ground“Medical Collection and Disposal Day” is an easy, confidential and environmentally safe way to dispose of both prescription and over-the-counter unwanted medications. The event will be held Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at two locations:

  • Golden Gate Community Center, 1625 N. 39th Avenue
  • Cricket Pavilion, 2121 N. 83rd Avenue

Items that will not be accepted include:

  • Syringes
  • Needles
  • Thermometers
  • Bandages
  • Gauze pads
  • Sun block
  • Deodorant
  • Skin cream

The event is sponsored by Golden Gate Community Center, the Phoenix Police Department, U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, Cricket Pavilion, COPE Coalition, and Terros. For more information, call (602) 233-0017, ext. 15.
